I want to attract Humming Birds to my home. Ideas?

I guess I need to add a little. I put out hummer feeders last year and bought a bird bath…nothing. When I lived in the mtns I has so many they fought over the feeders.
YOu can BUY hummers?? Never heard of that..

well 2 days ago i found a pigeon and it couldn’t fly so i tried to “scare” it home like i would scare it with my flip-flop it worked out then my freind’s grandpa came and showed me that it won’t bite and he picked it up he told me to try im all like ok lets try it so i did and it was unusually calm it squirmed but not as much as i thought it would…
i’ve been feeding it hamster food (taking out the sunflowers and wafer thingy i dont know what its called) and mixing in uncooked rice like its hard not cooked i will give it some wild bird food when i get a chance to go to the store…and anyways i dont know what to do now…ummm it seems that it cant fly but today it flew to the fence and was sittting on top of the fence i should be happy instead i was HORRIFIED what if it hopped to my neighbors backyard then what but instead of doing something dumb i snook up from behind and grabbed its tail thing or whatever it didn’t struggle instead it willingly let me grab it that happened three times…im not sure why its not a very good flier though it can fly NOW but when i got it it couldn’t but now it can but not that good…<<<<<

It is mainly white, with charcoal spots. its neck is all charcoal and a white head. it has a pointy orange beak. and a nice white tailfeather. It also has an orange belly. I have never seen a bird like this and know it isnt a woodpecker or worbler.

I have managed to attract the usual common birds and Turtle Doves by putting seed out for them daily. I also have two bird baths that they frequently use. I have a tall gum tree at my back fence line which is always attracting wattle birds, lorikeets and green rosellas but other than one occasion, the first time I ever saw the rosellas pecking around in my grass, they have never come down to feed or get a drink. Any other ideas?

TruthHurts want to know if men want to be at the birth of their babies. He doesn’t like all the blood and gunge that accompanies the birth.
Well, neither did I. I didn’t have a choice. I’d have liked a nice clean little parcel handed over to me instead of spending hours writhing on a bed in pain. (Natural childbirth is for the birds.) And yes, I didn’t like the fact that it was so undignified.
But the one person I wanted to share the magic moment of our baby’s birth was my husband.
Yes, he was useless. But that didn’t matter. It was OUR baby!
It didn’t work out that way – I had an emergency caesar for our second and our first – he was busy discussing our options with the doctor in the passage outside the room. I still wanted him to be with me. Why would you want your husband to be there?

What kind of bird food attracts the largest variety of bird species?

I live in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, and I’ve been fascinated by birds for as long as I can remember. Recently, my grandfather and I built two plastic-bottle birdfeeders. We don’t usually see a lot of blue jays, but they *do* live in the area. I want to attract as many different species as possible. Will standard mixed bird feed work, or is there anything special to attract specific birds in the area? A few examples of some of the birds that I want to attract are blue jays, robins, chipping sparrows, other sparrows, finches, doves, and common grackles (locally known as “blue-headed blackbirds”). It doesn’t have to be just those species, though.
Anyway, an answer would really be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
