Is there a way I can get it to hatch without an incubator? It has no cracks, its a light tealish sorta color. I origianally saw it outside on the ground at about 12:30 pm and brought it home about a half hour ago (8:00 pm)

Any way it can be saved? Thanks

I found a bird egg (small light blue) laying outside unbroken. How do I keep in warm?

Okay so I have hand raised and rescued several wildlife, squirrels, crows, finches, you get the idea.

well i found a small bird, looks like an adult brown finch of some kind (see them everywhere around here), in the middle of the road in an intersection.

i drove up to it and it didnt move, just looked around.

i scooped it up and took it home, and have been trying to subject it to as little stress as possible.

i assume it was hit by a car and was just a little dazed, and in a few hours it would be hopping around eager to be set free. (squirrels are often like this. i live in florida and when hurricanes hit, they are often in shock and need help being fed. after a day in my care, they are back into the normal wildlife they always where.)

well long story short, its been about 5 hours and the bird is unable to open her eyes. she keeps her balance well when held, and seems unusually calm… but otherwise surprisingly healthy and alert.

her eyes seem to be crusted shut.

she poofs herself up to sleep, but as soon as she hears me enter the room she will wake up and put her feathers flat again.

she can follow light with her head, so she isnt completely blind…..

she wont fly at all, but i think she has drank from a dish of water i placed in with her.

any help and advice would be great!
i have done a lot of research and im afraid it may have “house finch conjunctivitus”. i will be contacting a few different vets and professionals to see if they can perscribe me an antibiotic eye solution.

the bird otherwise is well, except she keeps trying to rub off her eyes and obviously cannot :(

Found an injured bird?

My friend found an injured pigeon and has been taking care of him for about 2 weeks now. When he found him the pigeon couldn’t fly at all…But now he can fly and he wants to let him go. However, his leg is still injured. He can’t stand on it and it is probably broken. Would it be safe to release him? Do birds adapt well to only being able to use 1 leg? Thanks in advance.

I found a baby bird with a broken wing hopping around my yard. It appears that his ’siblings’ and mother are flying around while it is hopping? I don’t think that he’s ill, but I don’t know if he is getting fed. What should I do?

I found a baby bird, it’s pretty big, big enough that it seems like it should fly, but it can’t. The mother bird is staying near it on the ground, and she makes noises if you come near it. What can I do? I don’t see a nest anywhere near where I found the bird. There are cats all around this neighborhood and it wont last very long on the ground. It’s really big for a baby and it seems like it should fly but it isn’t. You can tell the mother bird is really concerned about it. Anything I can do?
I wanted to add, it’s hopping around everwhere. It follows the mother bird by hopping around.
