In general, how long does it take for the birds to become attracted to your feeders when you hang them initially? Also, I would like to provide water, is there a type of water feeder for wild birds? I do not have a bird bath, nor do I wish to acquire one. Thanks for your help!

I feed birds in my backyard and the cat knows where to find its meals.
But… I don’t want to trap the cat. I just want to scare, like some kind of sounding device that annoys/bothers the cat’s hearing so it won’t come back. If you know any of this device, please let me know where to get it.

By the way, a dog will scare the birds away!
