How do you get birds to come to a bird feeder?

I put up a bird feeder two weeks ago and I still have no birds. What can I do to make them come?

Sprinkle a little bit of wild bird seed mix on the ground, a driveway or a piece of plywood so that they can see it. They will discover the feeder.

Make sure the bird feeder is in a good location where they have cover if needed by nearby trees in case a hawk flys above or a cat is on the ground. One of the main reasons many people have no birds at feeders is there is a predator of some kind nearby that is deterring the birds. Plus seeing as you put it up it will take a few days for one to notice it then the gang will follow. Offer many different kinds of seed and suet if possible. Enjoy. :)

What are you feeding the birds? What kind of feeder are you using? When I first put out my birdfeeder, I got lots of birds. I use wildbird seed mix. It contains milo, cracked corn, millet, black oil sunflower, and some vitamins. I’ve gotten many cardinals, finches, blue jays, robins, and more at my feeder.

Different feeders attract different birds. Also, different seeds attract different birds. I could go on and on about the specifics, but I’ll let you read about it for yourself.

So choose the right feeder, put in the right seeds, and place the feeder in a good, safe place for the birds.

    Happy bird feeding!

To add, also put out some water if it’s warm enough. Birds are attracted to water.

I once was in a place where there were thousands of seabirds and I was eating a sandwich and throwing some and they swamped me and eventually got most of the sandwich, anyway I had my dictating recorder and I recorded the squeaking and now every time I go to that spot I play it back and they swamp me and whoever girl I might be with!

I hope you get some benefits from my little story.

Set up take-out…Seriously make sure no cats hanging around or try changing the bird food you use…
