is it a sign of death when a bird hits a window?

Question by DEBBY S: is it a sign of death when a bird hits a window?
for the last few mornings I have been setting on my couch and would be looking outside at my bird feeder(which was empty) and a dove would all of a sudden fly up and hit my patio window- none of the other birds have done this – my husband said his mother said that if a bird hits the window there will be a death – The reason I am asking is because my husband has sugar really bad and has lost both his legs but also I am having a kidney biopsy tuesday and have been sick – I may have cancer -is that a sign of some type?

    A prayer for you:

Thy name is my healing, oh my God,
and remembrance of Thee is my remedy.
Nearness to Thee is my hope,
and love for Thee is my companion.
Thy mercy to me is my healing and succor
both in this world and the world to come.
Verily, Thou art the All Bountiful, the All Knowing, the All Wise!

God will take care of you. A bird hitting the window may be a sign that is wants to come in doors. I don’t think it is a predictor of anything bad.

Keep you eyes on the good things in life, and they will come to you!

Best of luck in your illness both for you and your husband. There is a reason for every thing. Even though it looks like God doesn’t care about you because of all the suffering you and your husband are now facing, but suffering always helps people look to God for His Help.

God is blessing you in all that you do!

I’d worry more about the bird. They get hurt and even killed that way! D:

Birds are no more magical than any other animal. They are a natural part of the environment. Windows are not part of nature, and birds often pay the price.

If a bird strikes your window, it’s a sign that your window is very reflective. Birds hit windows because they think the reflection is part of the yard, or because they see their own reflection and attack the “other” bird, because it’s in their territory.

Attaching removable window decals, or opening/closing blinds or curtains may help to break up the reflection, and prevent window strikes.

If you want a medical diagnosis – see a doctor.

The old Fable is if a bird flys into your house there will be a death in the family.

Birds hitting windows is a very common occurrence..millions of people would be dead by now if this were true. Don’t believe stupid superstitions. You can help prevent birds from doing this by applying decals to your windows so the bird knows there is a barrier there.

It means the the dove sees it’s reflection in the window, or sees a reflection of the trees in the window, and thinks it can fly into the trees. Close your curtain during the morning hours. It’s an old wive’s tale about the birds flying into windows, anyway, around in this area, it is a bird flying into the house. Good health to you and your husband.
