A bird nest with babies fell into our fireplace, I don’t think the parents can get to them. How do I reunite?

The flue in the chimney of the house we are renting is broken and allowed the nest and baby birds through. I haven’t seen the mother bird come in to feed them yet and I am concerned that she can’t fit through the opening. We are going to see if we can prop the flue open a bit more to give her room to get to her babies. Any other suggestions on how to reunite baby bird with their mother?

Will a mother bird (sparrow) come back to a nest she built last year for hatching new babies?

I did not remove a nest built by a mom sparrow last season for no specific reason. I’m now wondering since I’ve remembered that it’s still there if the same mother bird will return to the same nest she built previously or should I remove it and give her room to build another in the same spot? It seems to be a safe and quiet place for the babies so I’m sure she would like that again this year. Thank You everyone.

except mocking bird eggs are bluish grey with speckles and the hatched eggshell I found below the nest is white… could another bird have laid its egg in the mocking birds nest? although mocking birds are quite territorial?

Why does a woman want her husband to be there at the birth?

TruthHurts want to know if men want to be at the birth of their babies. He doesn’t like all the blood and gunge that accompanies the birth.
Well, neither did I. I didn’t have a choice. I’d have liked a nice clean little parcel handed over to me instead of spending hours writhing on a bed in pain. (Natural childbirth is for the birds.) And yes, I didn’t like the fact that it was so undignified.
But the one person I wanted to share the magic moment of our baby’s birth was my husband.
Yes, he was useless. But that didn’t matter. It was OUR baby!
It didn’t work out that way – I had an emergency caesar for our second and our first – he was busy discussing our options with the doctor in the passage outside the room. I still wanted him to be with me. Why would you want your husband to be there?

Will this rabbit nest be ok?

There is a rabbit nest in our backyard. Our dog took the leaf/fur cover off but we replaced it, wearing gloves the entire time. We then put a wire fence around the area to keep the dogs out but we left a hole to let mommy rabbit in.

Are rabbits like birds in that they won’t return to their nests if humans touch it? I don’t want the babies to starve if she’s not feeding them. Do you think they will be ok or is there anything else we should do?

How Can I Get Rid Of a Pesky, Annoying Bird?

Since May, this territorial bird has been swooping around, squawking, and screeching in my back yard. It wouldn’t bother me so much if it didn’t terrorize my dog. My dog is 9 years old, diabetic, and blind, so as you can imagine…having a bird swoop down at his face and tail while he’s doing his business and screeching at him is terrifying. I believe this bird had babies in June, so I cut it some slack, but now the young is gone, and this bird just won’t go away! Every time I let my dog into the backyard to go to the bathroom, this bird comes out of no where to terrorize him. I’ve tried scaring it by chasing it away, but it turns right around as soon as I turn my back. I’ve thought about contacting Animal Control, but I feel like I sound ridiculous complaining about a bird. I’m really just worried about my dog’s well being. He doesn’t even like to go out unless it’s an emergency, and even then he won’t go too far, because he’s afraid. What should I do?
I also don’t know exactly what kind of bird this is. It’s grey/black with a white belly, a pretty long wingspan, and a pretty long tail feather. This thing doesn’t “sing” like most bird do either, it screeches and squawks throughout the day, 24/7. It’s obviously very territorial. It sits on the top of a tree in the backyard looking over the yard, alternates between the fences, sits on my roof, and swoops down at my dog.
I live in Long Island in New York.
The bird must have had babies at the end of May, beginning of June, because I heard and saw them. Now there’s no chirping of the babies, and I haven’t seen them, so I’m assuming they’re gone. This bird stopped terrorizing my dog for about a week or so after the babies were gone (I guess), and within the past 2 weeks, it came back.

A family of mockingbirds has taken up residence in our backyard. We offered them food (meal worms) and they quickly took advantage of the situation. Watching them feed their babies has been delightful.

These are some of the birds that I’ve grown accustomed to over the past year. It’s 9 degrees out, so I’m filming from indoors. Sorry about the shakiness or when the camera goes unfocused because of the glass. 1_ Cardinals- male & female (mates) 2) White Crowned Sparrow (which the cardinals began taking care of once their babies left) 3) Chickadee 4) Tufted titmouse

How do I manage baby birds in my backyard?

Its spring here in Australia. The birds eggs are all catching and so far weve had three baby birds in my backyard. One got killed but theres another two in my backyard as I speak. Theyre there because I saw them on the road and put them in my front garden.

The Mum and Dad & a few other birds are constantly feeding it and they keep chirping. I dont mind them being there, but my Mum does because

a) We have a cat and she wants him to go outside… To do his “buisness” because she doesnt want him to do it inside…
b) She just finds them a bit annoying.

The adult birds are very protective & swoop at everyone but they dont swoop at me because Ive been trying to give them food to give their babies.

My questions are….

1. How do I get them out of the backyard safely without getting swooped? (Obviously they would swoop me if i touch the babies…)

2. What food can I give to the parents so they can feed their babies?

I heard bread can make them die because theres too much fibre in it or something. But my Dad gave them some yesterday & theyre alive today… I tried giving them watermelon, oats… anything I could find to help them out.

Please help. My cat might get out one day and kill them again =l

P.S. Birds are fully formed babies. Eyes open, fluffy & fat with feathers. &theyre trying to fly but they end up crashing into the wall =l
