is there any website that tells bird species in Tucson? because while I’m spreading the wild bird seeds over the driveway, then later I saw this sparrow looking type, that have black and white (like dalmation) on part of the body (it flew away before I can tell where) and it have red/crimson face, black/blue on the body. and the black and white on the tail, what species is this, AND I want a link for the list of bird species in Tucson (not Arizona)

i am writing a paper for bio on a certain bird species, and i want to do a species of bird that survives very cold weather. i tried googling it, but all i got was WHY birds could survive cold weather.
So, could anyone tell me a species of bird that survives in harsh conditions? If you can, tell me a few species so i could choose?
thanks so much in advance.
and i would also prefer it if it wasn’t a penguin.
i want something not everyone has heard of.
i know i sound really bossy and picky, but i just really want to do well for this paper.
thank you ![]()
Armadi, thanks so much.
black capped chickadee exactly what i wanted

What kind of bird food attracts the largest variety of bird species?

I live in Fort Pierre, South Dakota, and I’ve been fascinated by birds for as long as I can remember. Recently, my grandfather and I built two plastic-bottle birdfeeders. We don’t usually see a lot of blue jays, but they *do* live in the area. I want to attract as many different species as possible. Will standard mixed bird feed work, or is there anything special to attract specific birds in the area? A few examples of some of the birds that I want to attract are blue jays, robins, chipping sparrows, other sparrows, finches, doves, and common grackles (locally known as “blue-headed blackbirds”). It doesn’t have to be just those species, though.
Anyway, an answer would really be appreciated. Thanks for the help.
