Be careful when handling wild birds. Many carry diseases and parasites. Your best bet would be to contact your local game ranger or wild life rescue organization.

kamakazi cardinal…a bird has been flyinf into a plate glass window for four days now, how to stop it?

Question by david d: kamakazi cardinal…a bird has been flyinf into a plate glass window for four days now, how to stop it?
It hits the glass three or four times and then sits on a limb for a few minutes and begins again.

Answer by skydanzer400
You are going to have to do something to stop the reflections on the glass. This can happen any time of the year but it always seems to increase during the mating/breeding season. Either they are seeing reflections of trees, etc., not realizing it’s glass and thinking they can just fly through, or they are seeing themselves as another bird. They may be thinking, aha, a mate, or they may think it’s an intruder into their territory. Odds are it’s a combination of those things. But for now, to try to prevent injury or death to the bird, you must keep curtains or blinds closed or get some of the temporary stick on decals that will allow the bird to realize it’s a window and not more open flying space. I hope this helps the problem for you.

Why is this bird trying to get into my house? This bird for days has gone from the front of my house?

Question by MalteseLover: Why is this bird trying to get into my house? This bird for days has gone from the front of my house?
to the back of the house hitting the window & won’t go away!! He will disappear for a couple hrs during the day,but always returns. He is making a mess of my windows-what to do? And more important why?
I would pull some blinds but its at the top of a big rounded window in the dining room which doesn’t have blinds.
I have a dog inside that barks alot but that is it.

Best answer:

Answer by crrllpm
The bird may be protecting its territory from its own reflection in your window. Just as a tame bird will sit for ages singing to the mirror in its cage and occasionally trying to feed it, this bird sees another in the window and attacks it. You could try pulling your blinds to reduce the reflection or buy a plastic snake and place it near his favourite spot to frighten him off. (Sometimes the snakes work and sometimes they don’t.)
Good luck.

Wonderful World of Nature – all in 2 days!! [HD]

Wonderful World of Nature is a good title, during the last two days we have gone out to see nature at it’s best and have videos of bears, kokanee salmon in their brilliant crimson red color for spawning, a little squirrel, cedar waxwings stripping a bush of tit’s berries and much more. But not all is well in the wilderness of British Columbia and the Okanagan where we live, development, orchards and wineries are encroaching on more of the land and displacing not only local animals but vegetation. Stay tuned for videos on that.

By The End Of The Song, The 12 Days Of Christmas….?

Question by Thrill: By The End Of The Song, The 12 Days Of Christmas….?
(Note: I’ve posted this again and deleted the other thread, due to no one seeming to have a clue. I’ve tried to make it easier this time. It’s just some simple figuring out in your head that you have to do.)

How many total number of gifts have been received?

Find a way to divide the 12 groups of gifts up into six pairs. Each group of gift in a pair must have something in common with the other group in that pair, but no other group. If you can correctly identify a pair and know what they have in common, than figuring out the other pairs should be easy.

On the first day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
A Partridge in a Pear Tree

On the second day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

On the third day of Christmas
my true love sent to me:
Three French Hens
Two Turtle Doves
and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

On the fourth day of Christmas

364 is correct for the first question.
‘ll accept Rhonda’s answer for the 2nd part as well.

If there is a single partridge in a pear tree giving as a gift for all 12 days, than that means there are a total of 12 partridges in a pear tree.

The groups are:

1)Partridges in a pear tree
12 drummers drumming = 12 each

2) Two turtle doves
Eleven Pipers Piping = 22 each

3) Three French Hens
Ten Lords a Leaping = 30 each

4) Four Calling Birds
Nine Ladies Dancing = 36 each

5) Five Golden Rings
Eight Maids a Milking = 40 each

6) Six Geese a Laying
Seven Swans a Swimming = 42 each
