Cindy photographed and I was filming the worlds smallest birds while they were summering in Canada on their migration. All of the birds were wild coming and going at will.

Spectacular HD footage of a female Allen’s Hummingbird with wing beats in perfect sync with the high-speed shutter at times, giving the illusion the wings are stopped! A female Anna’s Hummingbird also makes an appearence… Details: Filmed on 3-6-2009, just as Spring begins and the seasonal/migratory species begin their return to the area. This footage was shot with a Canon HF100 HD video camcorder, 1/2000 sec. shutter speed, 1080p, 30fps. The footage was then slowed-down even further to 1/4 speed, giving an effective frame rate of 7.5fps. The first bird shown is a female Allen’s Hummingbird, and has a faster wingbeat than the Anna’s hummingbird (2nd bird show). At times the wingbeats were a perfect multiple of 30, so the camera’s shutter froze the wings in the same prosition in the wingstroke cycle for several frames in a row – giving the illusion that the wings had actually stopped moving for short periods of time. Notice the bird is swallowing and looking around while she seems to hang there otherwise motionless. Really cool effect!
Keep seeing hummingbirds…?
Lately, i’ve been seeing hummingbirds at the most random times that sometimes seem too coincidental to be random. like, i’ve been going through a bit of a hardtime, and as i was explaining to my friend my problem and how i felt, i saw a hummingbird. it’s weird, i’ll be thinking about something that’s been bothering me and i’ll see hummingbirds. or i’ll just be walking somewhere, and all of a sudden i see a hummingbird, and i feel safe and watched over for no reason. and now, there are two hummingbirds that are always in my backyard. I’ve also heard them ‘chirp’, my friends dont believe me but i have. i once talked to a person who said they could get a feel for animal guides and she said that she felt i had a bird. at the time, i’d been slightly disappointed(i had wanted to raccoon) but now i think she may have been onto something.
could this really be my animal guide or is this my imagination at work?
wolftrigger; see now that’s the thing. i never pictured a bird as my guide. i mean i’ve always loved birds, but as a spirit guide i always pictured a raccoon or whatever animal that was my favorite at the time. and the lady who told me about sensing my spirit guide being a bird; i’ve never even met her! we spoke online, and no i didn’t have to pay so she wasnt just telling me what i wanted to hear. but i guess Drei has a point, maybe i’m overthinking it…

Are you a birdwatcher? Here on Heron Hill on Eleuthera Island, nested in a Seagrape tree, swaying in breeze, the hungry kids call out .. and then mom arrives. I caught this video in 2003 from my balcony in what has become an annual trek to Heron Hill House in the Bahamas. In the background in the final footage is a view of the readily accessible Pomponi Beach looking to the North.
