I found a injured fledgling baby bird, I tried to call my local animal rehabilitation but no help?

There is no where else that I live that will take an injured bird, i just want to know if anyone has any advice. Please do not be rude or get defensive. I only want to help but it seems like i am at a dead road. The bird is in a cardboard box with toilet paper on the bottom for warmth. I placed a small 1/8 measuring cup with water also in the box. The left wing hangs a little lower then the other and there was a little blood but not any more. Some ADVICE please?

I found an injured bird while I was out walking?

It’s a brown bird about medium sized, I would say. Most likely an adult. Anyways, I found it flopping around on the ground b/c it can’t stand up to take off. Apparently something attacked it and its left leg is injured (broken, perhaps?) Anyways its full of life and ants were starting to attack it and I couldn’t just leave it there to be attacked/die so I took it home with me. Anyone know how to help me help it get better?

Feeding injured bird?

I found a small bird (yellow) in my backyard, and it must be injured somehow. It cannot walk or fly, it just kind of flutters around. Now, I love any animals, so I carefully took off my top layer shirt, and picked it up. I called a wildlife place, and they told me the earliest they can see to it is tomorrow MAYBE. They told me to feed it, and keep it well, and make sure it is in a box with grass, and water. I gave it water with a teaspoon, and that worked pretty well, but I don’t know what to feed it when it calms down more. Any ideas?
Also, I know it’s not a fledging, because I mistook it for a baby, but it’s an adult bird. Also, it IS injured, not learning to fly, because it’s wobbling, and cannot move around very well, and one wing is twisted around. I really want to help it, and if I thought he/she were a fledging, I would have never touched it in the first place.

HELP! How do I care for an injured bird?

I just found an injured bird in my yard. It looks a lot like a quail, but I’m not sure. I think one of the neighborhood cats has gotten to it. It has a patch of feathers missing on it’s back and has had some bleeding around one of it’s eyes which is a little more closed than the good eye.

At the moment I have it in a large cage covered with a towel in a quiet room. I’ve put some water in a shallow dish in the cage but I’m not sure about what food if any would be good idea to put in with it.

I would greatly appreciate any advice about feeding it, caring for it or who I should contact about it.

I found an injured bird and it looks like he will live. How do I make a cage for her?

I found this bird injured on the beach yesterday:

http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/637/overview/Manx_Shearwater.aspx

The salt water seemed to have disinfected his wounds and I see 3 rather large gashes in him, including a broken wing. I have him in a box and he survived the night and is alert and this morning was grooming himself. I called the rehabilitation center, but from the website and from what I can gather, they only take endangered birds and ones they can release back out or put in a show case. So I have opted to see if he will be happy in captivity. He is scared, but fairly calm in her new surroundings, so she may adjust?

How do I make a cage for her? I don’t have enough money to go and buy one.
cool: you didn’t read the question. I DID tell you what kind of bird it is. And a 7 foot tall cage is pointless for a bird with a broken wing.
Rach: I DID call the rehabilitation center.

My question was HOW to make a cage.

My wife found an injured bird in the grass, what to do?

the bird has blood on the wing like it smashed. the bird will not fly, its alive, and can move around on its legs. should we take it to the humane society and have them euthanize it. but its Friday night and I believe that pounds are closed.

Any ideas on how to help injured bird?

My little neighbour found a hurt robin in her backyard one day ago and is trying to nurse him/her back to health. Her dog got the baby. The live one drinks water but has not eaten since yesterday. She sits quietly, not moving. My little friend is doing all she can. Any tips? She cannot go to the vet.
