A Love Song, Which Uses Birds, Metaphorically

I knew that Sarsaparilla would have wonderful dreams if I sung to her a song about birds, so I wrote this for her. I’ve performed this decently, away from home, but I got sort of nervous with Sassy right next to me, sleeping but carefully listening too, so I screwed up a little. But she seems satisfied. I posted the lyrics below. ********************************************** Sooty owl sings as he waits beckoning his swallowtail, in shadows that the moon creates the nighthawk pecks the nightingale. In cedar’s roots, a hermit thrush dances to prove that he’s nimble, his dark-eyed junco she’s quite a lush drawing whiskey by the thimble. Red on black without looking back a magpie finds a warbler on a railroad track, red on green with jewels unforeseen The warbler sings secrets, obscure and obscene. Storm-petrel thinks, out at sea of his blue-footed booby’s shanty song, when the robin chirps her melody her bluebird likes to sing along. Round a dead tree, down by the glen frozen gray fog covered earth in a mire, a kinglet chases a winter wren spiraling round the dead spire. Red on blue over captain over crew the magpie and the warbler flew, red on gray to a mouth full of clay magpie and warbler together, away.

A love bird has shown up. How do I protect it? Will it survive in the wild?

He seems to get along with the other birds. What are some of the dangers he will face. Is there a special kind of bird house I can build for him? Can you tell me things about these kind of birds or tell me where I can out?

What makes people love to feed the wild birds?

If I have my last $20 I would spend it on wild bird seed to watch the beautiful bird in my window. Maybe I was a birds in another life? Maybe it means something?

I know love bird, but what is it call, exactly. and how much it is on the market ?

Love feeding wild birds…..there is black coloured city species I am trying to identify…any ideas?

I like feeding wild birds in Toronto with good quality grain bread…common ones…really love these clever little creatures.

Anyway, in the one park, there is this black coloured bird that sometimes comes buy.

-> Size bigger than a sparrow, smaller than a pigeon
->Adults are very jet black, almost purple around neck
->Kind of shy, and a little agressive sometimes
->Juveniles (females?) seems to have a speckled white neck sometimes
->The seem more intelligent…enjoy blackberries sometimes, mostly bread though.
->Very clean looking birds, well groomed

I don’t think its a “raven” (??) but its quite black.
Maybe it is.
If someone has any ideas that would be great.
If you could send a link with a picture, I could see if its the one for a positive ID.
