A bird nest with babies fell into our fireplace, I don’t think the parents can get to them. How do I reunite?

The flue in the chimney of the house we are renting is broken and allowed the nest and baby birds through. I haven’t seen the mother bird come in to feed them yet and I am concerned that she can’t fit through the opening. We are going to see if we can prop the flue open a bit more to give her room to get to her babies. Any other suggestions on how to reunite baby bird with their mother?

Which bird lays it’s egg in another species nest which drives out the original chicks?

I saw a documentary about a species of bird that would lay it’s egg in the nest of a smaller bird. The invading chick would push out all other original chicks and the parents would work tirelessly to feed the invader. I thought it was the Boobie Bird but that one only kicks out younger boobies. Thanks.

Baby bird problem! Robin expert needed?

So, I have a very big backyard because I live in the suburbs. It’s Spring and I found a nest on the top of a gutter pipe. This nest had two parents who were Robins and 2 baby birds. They were happy there for a while and neither me or my neighbor (the pipe was between me and my neighbor’s house we have a twin house) disturbed them. But one day, it was before the babies learned how to fly, the nest came down with a thud. It fell down because the nest wasn’t sturdy. The parents were ok and one of the babies were too. But the other baby’s leg is broken. The baby that was ok jumped to my neighbor’s property, and we brought the broken one (with the nest) over to our property, since it was nearest. Now the mom is feeding both of them and taking care of them. When ever the babies call her, she comes right away. Whenever there is danger, the father comes and tweets like crazy. SO, they are surviving. Me and my neighbor are doing everything we can to help them feel comfortable.
But the problem is that there is this cat roaming around at night. Since the birds are sleeping, anything can happen. We keep on trying to be on our guard but what can we do? We don’t know who the cat belongs to, but it looks well fed. We are really scared! We don’t know what to do! Can you help me and give me some tips? I would really like that!

Wild baby bird help? (Emergency!)?

I found a baby bird in my backyard. It has some feathers and does not look like it can fly. I’ve been watching through the window for a couple of hours but the parents have not shown up and it has not come close to flying only hopping. I think it fell from the nest because we just had a storm before i found it. I know i probably should have left it alone, but i didn’t and now its in a shoe box. There are a million trees in my yard and even if i did find the nest it would be impossible to get him back up there even with a ladder. It is sunday and i can’t call a vet, pet store, or wildlife rehabiltator because they are closed. I plan on taking him to the animal welfare on monday, but i have to keep him alive through the night. I don’t know what kind of bird it is but it looks like the one in this video…

…only younger (it dosn’t have that many featheres) so i don’t know what to feed him or if i should at all. HELP PLEASE!

What are some great Pellet gun rifles and pistols that I can get for squirrel control in my backyard?

The squirrels in my backyard suck up the bird seed in the bird feeders so I think they should also suck up some lead pellets before I throw ‘em on my parents stainless steel grill! So what are some powerful pellet gun rifles and pistols that I can purchase that arn’t above $300.
And if you know of any gun-replica pellet gun pistols or rifles that are good then you get extra brownie points!

How do you attract hummingbirds?

I just got a hummingbird feeder about six days ago. I hung it on a shady tree im my back yard. I live in a city area, and the bird feeder is red. It is not near any other bird feeders, because my parents only like hummingbirds.
The thing is, it’s been up for six days now, and I haven’t seen one hummingbird. Is there anything I can do to attract these magnificent birds? Thank you so much in advance!!!!

This is a growing family of Cardinals I discovered nesting in my backyard. I arrived home one day to find a tiny baby Cardinal chirping up at me. Its two siblings soon appeared, joining together in song. Eventually their parents arrived to serve them dinner. The family is growing healthily and has now migrated to another backyard.
