Why did my grandmother`s parakeet die?

Okay so, one of my granny`s birds died. She is on an emergency trip and she left my mother instructions to feed the birds every two days, change water etc. etc. So, today, unfortunately the green one died. My mother is always feeding them, changing their water and when she went to change the food (more than half the little bowl that is easy reach for them was filled with their favorite pellets) the blue one went into a eating rampage, while the other one laid dead. We’re going to take the blue parakeet to the vet to check if he got an illness, but we want to know as soon as possible. The bird is approx. 4 years old. My granny is going to be devasted especially with the recent death in the family. She is attached to the birds and will make her even sadder! Why did the bird die, how can I prevent that with the other bird and how do I brake it to my grandmother when she comes back on friday?
I only need ideas, not a full-out how-to.
My mom knows when there is food in there (they are brightly colored).

My cat swatted at my budgie he was cut under his wing, vet said to just watch him for the next day?

he keeps picking at it and the cut is getting bigger…its Sunday I am afraid he will not make it until tomorrow. Has anyone had a similiar accident and the bird made it…..he is acting fine but I am scared but don’t have $150 to bring him to emergency when they told be to watch him for a day…HELP!

BIRD EMERGENCY! PLEASE HELP?

please help last night my female cockateil seems to have hurt her blood wing. Checking it this morining the blood has dried i noted that she is still grooming around the area and allowing me to check it, i am wondering if it just like a child who cuts there knee slightly, it hurts but won’t get infected… it is probably 8 or 9 mills long and only 2 mills high and not that deep. should i consolt my vet or leave it make sure she is using her bird bath to help cease infections??

Bird Emergency! (Urgent)?

My parakeet is bleeding…. I don’t know what happened, except there is blood on its wing and feet, and there is some blood on the food holders, too. Please, someone help me! I don’t know any vet nearby since our family take care of our birds alone, and I don’t know what to do. I’m such a bad owner…. How can I get compensation for a purchased bird that died?

I purchased a bird from Apollos bird store a breeder, and singed a contract saying that if I dont visit a vet within 10 days and the bird dies, its not the breeders fault, and I assume full responsibility and no refund

In my case I didnt go to the breeder and the bird died after 3 weeks, and went to the vet and paid 100 dollars, for the emergency (he got sick and died), It was really bad, Is there anything I can do, I mean I feel like I got scammed 300 $ , 200 for the bird,

Animal Emergency- who to call?

there is an injured bird in my yard and I need to call someone to hepl it- my neighborhood is full of cats…
I have called the vet but they are closed for memorial day- I tried researching who to call but i do not know- i am located in South Jersey… help!

My chow ate a bird skeleton 2 days ago. Today he barfed twice and is lethargic. I’ve been rationing water.

My chow is 12+ yo and eats garbage all the time, I do my best to stop him, but theres only so much you can do living in a city.

He ate what I believe was the remains of a small bird a hawk ate in my yard more than a week ago. My Chow ate most of it Wednesday morning, and I believe got a hold of the skull on Friday morning.

1. Breakfast of soft & dry food (the second half of what I gave them on Wed) My other dog barfed within an hour of eating (obviously undigested soft/dry food) My chow barfed 4-5 hrs after eating.

2. His evening barf was within an hour of eating a small dinner (because of the barfing) and was obviously undigested dry food. I’ve been rationing water to him since.

My chow has been extremely lethargic since 4pm, an hr after he barfed the first time, and took a very slow walk, but did poop. He went out briefly, just around the yard, at 9:30pm.

Am I alright to wait until the morning to call the vet? Or should I call an emergency animal hospital?

please please help. my bird got loose and burned his whole tail off because he flew into the kitchen when someone was cooking. we got him back, when we caught him and when we looked he was burned please i need help, there are no avain vets or vets around. i really need help what can i do to help his tail grown back, and make him feel better? PLEASE HELP ME. thx
omg, you guys are so helpful. i found a vet int he yellow pages and i went. my bird feels way better, and we found out that it was only the feathers that got burnt and not his skin. thnx sooo much everyone.

Emergency Broken Bird Wing?

im not sure it’s broken, but what happened is that it did not fly and fell on it’s side and after it fell it stayed in it’s cage quietly and now it’s right wing is shaking and almost like shivering. he doesn’t fly, and he stays quiet in the corner of the cage sleeping and trying to heal on it’s own…he can open the wing without letting out a shriek of pain…maybe it’s bruised…can anyone help?? it’s 11:20 and to late to take to a vet.
